About Us

Martha Care is a small charity serving the South West of England. We support families with very sick children who are admitted to hospital. At the moment we have a Martha Care Family Support Worker based at Bristol Royal Children's Hospital who helps on average 12 families per week. We support families by helping them access emergency funds to ease financial hardship, helping families find accommodation to enable them to stay with their child as much as possible; we advise them on social support groups and even provide emotional support ourselves. Our aim is to alleviate the added everyday pressures a hospital stay brings to families to enable them to concentrate fully on supporting their sick child through treatment, often the most traumatic time of a child's life.

The project, so far, has benefited over 70 families since 1st August 2012 and continues to support on average 12 families per week. Bristol Royal Hospital for Children see our work as being so vital that they have asked us to expand into the Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) at St Michael's hospital and Southmead Hospital, but we are unable to do this with our current Martha Care Family Support Worker as we don't have enough hours to spare. In fact, we are in a desperate situation which means we may be unable to continue to provide our service at all; Which is why we need your help.

We need to do something extreme to raise money to continue to help families, so what is more extreme than a sky dive?!!!!

In order to raise money for Martha Care you can choose one of these payment schemes.

Jump for Free

  1. The minimum amount Martha Care requires you to raise, in order to pay for your skydive using a portion of your sponsorship is £395.
  2. £50 non-refundable deposit required when you book your jump.
  3. A minimum of £145 goes to Martha Care.
  4. Martha Care does not allow you to raise £200 jump balance online. On the day you need to bring in the £200 jump balance (by cash or card) taken from offline sponsor money.
  5. If you are raising all sponsorship offline, you are required to bring on the day a personal cheque made payable to Martha Care for a minimum of £145; £200 jump balance (by cash or card taken from sponsor money) and the sponsorship forms.
  6. If you are raising sponsorship using a combination of online and offline we suggest you raise a minimum of £145 online and the outstanding jump balance of £200 offline (on the day you need to bring in the £200 jump balance by cash or card).
  7. You cannot include Gift Aid as part of the minimum amount you need to raise.
  8. Martha Care does not allow you to raise sponsorship on Skydive Buzz Ltd in-house online sponsorship facility Raise 'n' Jump.

Self Fund

  1. You can choose any of our different priced jumps, including promotional offers. This must be paid out of your own money. No sponsorship money can be used to pay for this jump.
  2. All sponsorship money you raise will go to the charity (there is no minimum required with this scheme). You send this directly to Martha Care.
  3. £50 non-refundable deposit required when you book a 15,000ft skydive. Other packages and promotional offers require payment in full.
  4. The outstanding balance is payable to Skydive Buzz Ltd on the day of jump (by cash or card) if applicable.
  5. Martha Care does not allow you to raise sponsorship on Skydive Buzz Ltd in-house online sponsorship facility Raise 'n' Jump.
