Without the public's generosity as a Charity we would not be able to continue our voluntary service as we have to maintain our bikes regularly. We are a non-funded charity so all monies is either through kind donations or fund raising events such as these.

About Us

Devon Freewheelers was started up in 2009 by the founder Daniel Lavery. His life took a changing point when his wife gave birth to their fourth son in Ireland. Due to complications Dan nearly lost his wife because she had lost 7 units of her 8 units of blood. In despair Dan was making calls to family members to let them know that the doctors thought she may not make it through the night and perhaps they wanted to say their goodbyes. As he was doing so 2 bloodbikes pulled up outside of the hospital and in rushed 1 man with a large bag with Blood on the side of it. Dan knew at this point that was probably for his wife. Fortunately, this did save her life and they gave up everything to come back to Honiton near family and with all the money Daniel started up freewheelers. This is a non-funded charity and the services to the NHS are saving them millions of pounds from the taxpayers pocket as we offer an out of our service to them.
